CASPER -- Services for Kathy Doing, 56, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church with Fr. John Smylie from St. Mark's and Fr. Royce Brown, chaplain at Hospice, officiating.
She died Dec. 30, 2007, at home with her family at her bedside after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born Aug. 5, 1951, in Omaha, Neb., and adopted that day by Walter and Matilda Henke. She grew up on their farm in Columbus, Neb., graduated from high school and cosmotology-beauty school and moved to Denver.
She married Robert Cox in 1976 in Denver. They moved to Casper in 1977 where daughters Jessica and Amanda were born.
In 1988, she married Dr. Kent Doing and together they lovingly raised Jessica and Amanda. They had a wonderful 19 years with each other as partners and soulmates in all they did.
She obtained a degree in radiologic technology from Casper College and worked at several locations in Casper in the early 1990's. She then worked with her husband full-time as business manager of his dental practice.
She was a talented person who could sew, quilt, play music and was a gourmet cook. She enjoyed spending time with her family skiing, camping, fishing, gardening and loved to travel.
She was a member of St. Marks Church and the Casper Mountain Ski Patrol.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ted Henke.
She is survived by her husband, Kent; daughters, Jessica and Amanda and a grandson, all of Casper.
