Kathleen Margaret Eickhoff

May 21, 1947 — January 23, 2015

Kathy Eickhoff passed peacefully at Wyoming Medical Center on January 23, 2015, in Casper, WY at the age of 67.

Kathy Eickhoff was born May 21, 1947 the daughter of Gerald Bolger and Constance (Wolken) Bolger in Duluth, MN. Her family moved to Oregon, and eventually settled in Denver, CO.

Kathy spent her life committed to serving others. She began by providing a home and family ties for her husband and two daughters. When they were grown, she was able to extend her commitment to her 5 grandchildren (she was affectionately known to them as "Hotta"). Kathy always focused on others above herself. She was a devoted friend and confidante and she continued her service to the community she called home on many levels. These include serving on the Board of Directors of the Child Development Center of Natrona County and helped coordinate their annual Arte Al A Carte Event. She was actively involved in the Festival of Trees in support of Special Olympics. In her last two years, she became committed to supporting those battling cancer. She provided weekly comfort and support for patients with cancer and always greeted those with a smile and an uplifting spirit. Her personal journey with cancer gave her a special ability to empathize and understand the unique challenges and obstacles of this disease. She always said she received as much as she gave with all of her community service.

On August 19, 1967, she was united in marriage to Kenneth David Eickhoff at St. Boniface Church, in Cold Spring, MN. To this union, two daughters were born: Brenda and Deanna. For 38 of their 48 years together, they made their home in Casper, WY.

Kathy is survived by her devoted husband, Ken; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda Eickhoff and Mike Schafer, Deanna Eickhoff-Brownell and Scott Brownell; 5 grandchildren, Maddox Johnson, Rosslyn Brownell, Ellyce Brownell, Manning Johnson, and Maggie Johnson; 2 brothers and their wives, Greg Bolger (Debbie), Kevin Bolger (Debbie); one sister and her husband, Maureen Majors (Mark); 4 Brothers-in-law and their wives, Jack Eickhoff (Rita), Rich Eickhoff (Linda), Jim Eickhoff (Sue), Tom Eickhoff (Carol); 5 Sisters-in-law and their husbands, Mary Spoden (Roger), Jeannie Schreifels, Carol Tillman (Steve), Kathy Fouch (Jim), Cindy Eickhoff; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Gerald Bolger and mother, Constance (Wolken) Bolger.

Her Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 AM, on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Highland Park Community Church, Casper, WY. A reception will follow at Highland Park Community Church. In lieu of flowers please consider contributions in Kathy's name to one of the following: Child Development Center of Natrona County, Angels Cancer Care Program through Wyoming Medical Center Foundation, Special Olympics, or a charity of your choice.
