Julie Dee Knight passed away peacefully on September 27, 2012 surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Julie was born May 18, 1959 to Don and Paula Walter in Casper, Wyoming. Two sisters, Donna Walter and Ann Schott, welcomed her to the family home. Through her youth working on the ranch she found life long love of animals and became and accomplished horse woman. Julie also had the honor as a daughter of a Pioneer family to be the Wyoming flag bearer for the Central Wyoming Parade and Fair in the summer of 1977. She graduated from Kelly Walsh High School in 1977 and Casper College in 1979. While in high school she met her true love and soul mate Tad Knight. They were married on May 3, 1981 and celebrated a great milestone of 31 years this last spring. From this union they have three daughters Jodee, Kelsey, and Holli. Julie's love of animals was passed to her daughters. She taught and supported them in 4-H as a 36 year leader as well as a supporter in the local FFA chapters.
At the time of her passing she was employed at UE Compression and really enjoyed her employment there. Julie was a hard worker, always enjoyed a good joke and one to extend a helping hand to youth, friends or any organization she was involved with. Later in her life her only weakness was a good slot machine that paid and made a lot of noise.
She is preceded in death by her father, Don Walter and grandparents Arlene and William Pratt.
Survivors include her husband Tad, daughters Jodee, Kelsey, Holli, her mother Paula, her two sisters, several nieces and nephews. Her long time friend Geoellen Stretesky and family.
Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 9th 2012 at the First United Methodist Church 332 E. 2nd Street Casper, Wyoming. A reception will follow at the V.F. W. on Brian Stock Trail
