CASPER -- At her request, no services will be held for Julia Shiley, 86, who died May 4, 2007, at Poplar Living Center.
Burial has taken place at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery.
She was born May 27, 1920, in Enid, Okla., the daughter of James Allen and Jewel Johnston.
She was raised in Houton, Texas, and Corpus Christi, graduating from Houston High School.
She was a telephone operator for several years before marrying Glenn Shiley in Ohio in 1951.
They owned and managed a motel in Clyde, Ohio and moved to Casper in 1976.
She managed apartments and condos in Casper and was a waitress at the Red and White Café.
Her hobbies were needlework, sewing and collecting bells and thimbles.
Survivors include a son, Brian McBride, Ontario, Calif.; two daughters,Debra Williamson, Evansville and Melissa Taylor, Austin, Texas; four grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
