Julia Lee Anderson, passed away April 7, 2014. She was born in Casper, WY to John and Mary Ellen (Wilcox) Gray in 1918 the eighth of nine children. She lived in Casper her entire life. She married Arthur Roy Anderson on April 18, 1938. They had four daughters.
Julia was a 74 year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #306 Auxiliary and served as Madam Past President. She was President of Teal Chapter, American Business Women's Association. She was recognized as a nominee for her leadership as Woman of the Year at the National Conference of ABWA in Detroit, MI. She served as team leader for TOPS for many years.
Julia was actively involved in her neighborhood, and was instrumental in raising funds for the building of the Winter Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Julia was employed by Wyoming Industrial Laundry for 28 years.
She is survived by four daughters: Julia Lee Childers (Rich) Casper; Patsy Ann Jones, Cody,WY; Barbara Jean Gast (John) Cody, WY; Betty Lou Ekis (Ed) Sun City, AZ ; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a grandson, Mark Gast, son-in- law, Charles Jones, four sisters and four brothers.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to the Central Wyoming Senior Services or Natrona County Meals on Wheels in Julia's name.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Friday, April 11, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.
