Juli (Fail) Peterson-Hartshorn, 57 of Evansville, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, February 23rd, 2023 at her home in Evansville, Wyoming.
Juli was born in Rapid City South Dakota to James Frank Fail Jr. and Myrna Marilyn (Wilson) Fail on July 21st, 1965. Her father was an agent with the Department of Interior which resulted in a few transfers in her early years to Washington D.C. and then ultimately to Brigham City, Utah where her father continued his career with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. She attended Lincoln Elementary School, Boxelder Junior High School, Boxelder High School and in 1983 she moved to Glenrock, Wyoming and graduated from Glenrock High School, throughout her schooling she very much enjoyed being an active participant in a dance group, color guard as well as playing the violin. Shortly after graduation she got a job at the Casper Petroleum Club and later began pursuing training in Dental Arts. At 20 years old she became pregnant with her eldest son Tyson and gave birth in March of 1985. She met her first husband, Larry Peterson, later that year and in 1988 gave birth to her youngest son Landon. While in Casper she began a career she very much desired as a children's dental and surgical assistant for Dr. Roy Paulson at Casper Children's Dental Clinic in Casper, Wyoming, this was one of her life's greatest passions and she continued to provide her services at the clinic for the next 11 years. After her departure from the field of dentistry, she explored and ventured into a variety of fields which included bar and restaurant management and inspection services for an oilfield company. Her career choices led to several relocations including California, Colorado and Kansas. In the late 1990's she made the decision to reside once again in the Casper Wyoming area where she could be closer to her sons and grandson. She once again found love with her longtime partner Craig Stoner and moved to Evansville, Wyoming where they have resided since. In February of 2022 she was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma and then began her hard fight against cancer. She fought so fiercely and so often used comedy as a relief to herself and those around her. Her strength and aspiration were truly inspiring to all those who had the distinct pleasure of being a part of her life during her fight.
Juli was known for her kindness and support of all those around her, as well as her love of animals. Throughout her amazing journey, she touched so many lives, she often enjoyed teaching and advising everyone she worked with, sharing her knowledge of the dental industry as well as her unique knowledge of life. She was the light in everyone's lives, so selfless and would take part in long conversations and enjoyed listening to those she loved and cared about just to be there for anyone in their time of need. In her later years, she so much enjoyed spending time outside, doing what she called "yard work" and would often be found swinging in her hammock at times. She also spent an immense amount of time with her other love in life which was her dog, which creatively enough she named "DOG". Juli led an extraordinary life and made long lasting impressions on everyone she ever met throughout her journey and will forever be remembered for her fun humor, kindness to others, putting others before herself and as a very proud mother and grandmother.
Juli is survived by her two sons, Tyson Peterson (fiancé- Lacey) and Landon Peterson, both of Casper, WY.
