A celebration of life for Judy Miller will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home in Casper, WY. Judy died at her home in Casper on February 26, 2012. She was born in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Dick and Mary Craig. She grew up in Dundas, Illinois and graduated from East Richland High School and earned a B.S. Degree in Education from Eastern Illinois University. In 1961 she married Jim Miller in Anchorage, Alaska.
They were later divorced. She taught school in Illinois and Alaska before moving to Wyoming in 1971. In 1975 she entered the real estate profession and continued in this line of work until her retirement in 2010. In 1980,she met her "soul mate", Loren "Pete" Stephens, and they were together until his death in 2001.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim Carlson and her husband, Don, daughter,Pam Mitchell and her husband,Shannon, four grandchildren, Jeremiah Hytrek and his wife Laura, Jessica Johnson, George Johnson and his wife, Brittany and Jessie Ray Carlson, four great-grandchildren,Jaivis Hytrek, Cyrus Folwer, Kaysen Johson and Braxton Johnson all of Casper and Mills, her sister and her best friend, Nancy Clark of Flora, IL, a sister-in-law, Mary Miller of Fillmore, UT plus several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her long time companion,Pete Stephens, her parents and a great grandchild, Damon Johnson.
Judy's body has been donated to Science Care. After completion of their work, the remains will be cremated and returned to the family.
