CASPER -- Funeral services for Joyce Eve Stewart, 76, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 30, 2008, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Msgr. James O'Neill and Fr. Lucas K. Simango officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
She died May 24, 2008, at Wyoming Medical Center from heart failure.
She was born Jan. 20, 1932 in Dickinson, N.D., the daughter of George P. and Pauline (Ehrmantraut) Hecker. She grew up in Dickinson and graduated from high school there. Shortly thereafter, she and her parents moved from Dickinson to Casper. She worked as a telephone operator for Mountain Bell.
She met and later married David R. Stewart in 1978. She had a deep appreciation of art, and enjoyed interior decorating and her plants and flowers. She was devoted to helping homeless animals and never neglected to feed her wild birds.
Survivors include her husband, her daughter, Lisa Craft and her husband, as well as two sisters, three nephews, one niece, and her beloved cats. She was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Popish Veterinarian Clinic, Paws2Help Fund (attention: Sandy Douglas), that provides veterinarian care for homeless animals, 3155 CY Ave., Casper, 82604, are much appreciated by the family.
