Joyce Myres

Joyce H. Myres

Joyce was born July 21, 1927 in Omaha, Nebraska to Helen and the late Dr. Calvin Hall. Her family moved to Wyoming when she was in grade school. After graduating from Natrona County High School she attended Casper College and The University of Colorado at Boulder where she learned to fly a Cessna 140.

Showing and racing quarter horses was one of her passions. Joyce led a colorful life with her husband J.D. Myres with their horses, cattle and hounds and they loved their ranch outside of Douglas. She was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. Her other accomplishments included having several short stories published. As an artist, she created many beautiful watercolors, which her family will always treasure. While working at Marathon Oil, Joyce made many lifetime friends. Later in life Joyce was well known for her many unique hand made hats.

She died of natural causes on July 15th at Life Care Center of Casper. Her mother Helen Hall survives her along with her daughters Shelley (Marshall) Keneipp and Leslie (Kevin) Bromley and her sister Gloria Butler, her beloved grandchildren Michelle (Isaac) Scott, Julia Keneipp, Ryan Bromley, Morgan Bromley, and her two great-grandsons, Zachary and Eli Scott. Donations may be sent to the Casper Senior Citizens Center, 1831 E. 4th Street, Casper, WY 82601 or the Casper College Foundation Scholarship Fund, 125 College Drive, Casper, WY 82601.

She was preceded in death by her much-loved husband of 33 years, J.D. Myres.

At her request, no services will be held; instead there will be a private celebration of Joyce's life with her family and friends at the Bromley residence on July 18th, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
