Honoring her request, there will be no services for Joyce Arlene Kirkpatrick. She was reunited with her husband, R.P. (Dick), in God's kingdom on February 21, 2014 from the home of her daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Rick Lepley.
Joyce was born to Clay and Minnie (Helen) Gourley in Avard, OK on April 7, 1926, the second of three daughters. She came to Casper in 1954 with her former husband, Ted O. Snyder, and their two children, Stan and Cindy.
When Cindy started school, Joyce went to work at Sears Roebuck & Co. She spent 25 years in the credit department and made many life-long friends.
Her first marriage ended. She married R.P. (Dick) Kirkpatrick in 1974, adding a daughter, Dale, and sons, William (Bill) and James to the family roster. Dick and Joyce enjoyed 34 years together until his death in 2008. They were longtime members of the Casper Shrine Club, loved and respected by many.
Joyce entered Heaven with the love of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, a great-great grandchild, her sister, and several extended family members. She was greeted by our lord and a multitude of family and friends.
Joyce was an amazing woman. In her younger years she was a state tennis champion, a self-taught pianist, a great dancer, and wonderful hostess. She had a quick wit and a wry sense of humor. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and playing cards.
She loved her family and was affectionately known as "Glanny" to her grandchildren, and "Joyous" to many of her friends from Sears. She was loved and will be missed by her family and many friends.
Memorial contributions to the Casper Shrine Club and/or Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions will be greatly appreciated.
