Joseph (Joe) Pavelka was born in Casper on August 3, 1933. To F.J. and Veronica Pavelka and died on September 1, 2011. Joe graduated St. Anthony's in 1948 and Natrona Co. High School in 1952. He served in the Navy at the end of the Korean Conflict, aboard the U.S.S. Phillipian Sea, an aircraft carrier. Upon discharge from the Navy Joe returned to Casper and attended Casper College and the University of Wyoming. He worked for the Bureau of Reclamation from 1959 until he retired in 1990. He is survived by his wife Eula, daughter Katie Palmer, step-children Leslie Mead of Wichita, KS., Frank Jones of Villa Rica, , G.A. and Lisa Matsumoto of Fresno, CA., sisters of Casper Rose Day, Liz Read, and Betty Roach, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents and brothers Walt, Ed and Frank and sisters Anna, Mary and Amy. GRAVESIDE SERVICES: will be 11:00 A.M Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Highland Cemetery.
