A memorial service for Joseph "Joe" Osterholt, 59, will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Stage III Theater, 904 N Center, Casper from 4pm-7pm. Joe passed away at his home on December 16, 2012.
He was born on November 18, 1953 in Sterling, Colorado to Joseph and Vivian (Lakey) Osterholt. He graduated from high school in Sterling.
Joe and his family moved to Casper in 1993, where he opened B & J Flooring. He continued installing flooring for many years in Casper. Joe's passion, however, was live theater. In the past he was heavily involved in Stage III Community Theater. Joe was an instrumental part of their remodel when they moved to their new location. He acted in several plays there, but found his passion was directing. For Stage III he directed The Crucible, Steel Magnolias, Bell Book and Candle, Madams Been Murdered- tea will be late, June Groom and the Rain Maker. He also helped co direct several others. He became involved in the Casper Children's Theater, where he was an instructor there. He acted in The Wizard of Oz,(where he played the cowardly Lion); School House Rock, and directed Alice in Wonderland. His love of the theater and his family were very present in his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Donna; children; Elise Osterholt, Brandi (Alec) Olson, Michael Osterholt. Grandson, Nicholas Osterholt, and sister, Jean (Eric) Christenson, along with several nieces and nephews.
