Johnnye Christensen, 86 of Casper, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014 surrounded by her loving family at her son's home in Casper. She was born February 2, 1928 in Fame, OK, to Elmer and Mildred Story. Johnnye grew up in Oklahoma, and lived in Illinois, Colorado, New Mexico and settled in Casper. During school she played basketball and trombone in the marching band. She then went on to receive her Associates Degree in Business. Johnnye is best known for her service in the Casper community by working together with her sister, Betty Luker in Real Estate. She had four children, Paula, Boyd, Ricky, and Dan, all of whom she adored. She did relocate for a time to Hobbs, New Mexico with her youngest son, Dan where she was extremely involved in the community and active with the school Dan attended. Johnnye loved to garden, motorcycle, bowl, dance and ski. However, her passion was working with people through Real Estate. Johnnye loved her friends dearly and enjoyed her time spent with them. She would often be found at Wednesday night services at local establishments discussing current events, local news, and sharing a laugh. Johnny's humor set her apart. Her quick wit could defuse the most tense conversation and moments. She was always welcoming and never met a stranger, and truly just a great friend.
She is predeceased by her son, Ricky Bradfield; and her sister, Betty Luker. She is survived by her children Paula (Micheal Ramsey) Bradfield, Boyd (Lori) Bradfield, and Dan (Holly) Christensen; grandchildren, Christopher (Christina) Bradfield, Taylor Bradfield, Sean Bradfield, Trent Bradfield, Davis (Bonnie) Odell, Madeline Odell, Siri Christensen, and Stephen Christensen; and 3 great grandchildren.
Private services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in honor of her son, Ricky.
