John went home to be with the Lord on November 11, 2016. He was born April 1,1934
in O'Donnell, Texas. On June 7th, 1953, John married his life long love, Peggy Walker. The
couple had four children together. John worked for B&B Drilling for many years and because of
his job John and his family moved all over and in 1968 they made their home in Casper,
Wyoming. John was an avid fisherman and he spent most of his weekends out at Pathfinder
lake camping and trying to catch "The Big One" with his family. John had another love; his little
poodle Chip. Wherever John was, Chip was too. The two were inseparable. John was also a
jack of all trades; he would weld and make beautiful cowboys and horses out of old horseshoes,
he would make wonderful birdhouses out of some wood and a couple of license plates, or any
other handy work his wife or kids needed. Words cannot describe the impact he made on so
many lives, all of his friends and family loved him dearly.
John was preceded in death by his wife; Peggy (Creel) Walker, son; John Allen Walker,
his daughter; Cindy Rowland, his mother; Lulu (Florence) Walker,his father; William Walker,
numerous brothers and sister, and a great-grandson; Ian Corrigan.
John is survived by his daughters Cathy (Dave) Phillips and Terri Walker. Sisters; Hazel
and Margaret. Seven grandchildren: Jason Moyer, Justin Moyer, James Moyer, Michael Moyer,
Katie (Daniel) Pieri, Melissa (Hooter) DeHoney, Larry (Sarah) Rowland Jr,and nineteen greatgrandchildren.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend, and so much more. He will be dearly
missed, though happily remembered.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday November 19th at Mountain View
Baptist Church 4250 Poison Spider Road Mills, WY 82644 with Garry Roggow officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Central Wyoming Hospice at
319 S. Wilson Casper, WY 82601.
