John J. Van Heule, Sr., 86 of Casper, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Shepherd of the Valley Care Center in Casper, Wyoming. He was born on March 21, 1930 to Emil and Vina (Snowdon) Van Heule in Chicago, IL. He met and married his wife, Loreen J. Thompson on May 12, 1951 in Evanston, IL. They resided in suburban Minneapolis, MN, Red Lodge, MT, Powell, Worland, Newcastle and retired in Casper, WY. John was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed the history of the West. He worked as a Retail Manager for Linton's Big R and operated his own Sears store in Newcastle. John will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
John is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Loreen J. Van Heule, siblings; Ruth Kroeck and Phyllis Henrich. He is survived by his brother Tom of Chicago, IL, children, John (Jeanne) Jr., Michael (Joy), Richard (Kate); Joanne (Tim) Hunter, Kathy (Dwain) Romsa, and Susan (Harold) Babbitt; 17 grandchildren, Charles Van Heule, Timothy Van Heule, Mary Thieken, Susie Wichert, Britton Van Heule, Tyler Van Heule, Anne Ivie, James Van Heule, Benjamin Van Heule, Marissa Hunter, Christopher Hunter, Zachary Romsa, Hannah Romsa, Caleb Romsa, Seth Romsa, Don Babbitt and Parker Babbitt; and 12 great grandchildren.
A Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 1401 CY Avenue, Casper, Wyoming. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
