Casper -- Services for John H. Pfiefer, 77, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. at Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery on Friday March 6, 2009. Military Honors will be accorded by the Natrona County Veterans Council.
He passed away at his son's home in Casper, Wyoming on March 3rd 2009, after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.
Born September 14, 1931 in Riverton, Wyoming. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1950 and was stationed in Hawaii. He married Beth Gardner on March 16, 1955 in Vernal, Utah. After being discharge from the Navy he went to work for Texaco and retired after 34 years in Farmington, New Mexico. He enjoyed fishing, camping, whittling, was an avid Wyoming Cowboy Fan and had a great love for Wyoming. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife Beth of 54 years, two Sons: John E. (Leslie) and Brad (Barbara) both from Casper, Grandchildren: Ryan of Farmington, New Mexico, Aaron of Casper, Gabe and Holly Ragsdale of Littleton, Colorado, Kory Eller of Denver, Colorado. Great grandson: Kobe Eller of Denver, Colorado. Brother: James Johnson of Niles, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his mother, and grandmother.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to Central Wyoming Hospice Care, 319 S. Wilson, Casper, Wyoming 82601. The family wishes to personally thank Hospice for all of their support, devotion and love given to John. Thanks to Robin, T-Robin, Cindy, Carol, Charlie, Tera, Royce and the rest of their staff.
