John M. "Jack" Turner, 88 of Casper, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Poplar Living Center in Casper, WY. Jack was born in Longmont, Colorado to Wesley and Isabelle Turner.
Jack enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps and served during WWII. After he left the service he was set up on a blind date with Eileen Nierman whom he eventually married and together they had four children.
Jack retired from State Farm Insurance Company as a Claims Superintendent after 30 years of service. Jack was a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served as a church trustee, as well as helping in anyway he could.
Jack was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gunsmith. He loved to tinker and build things for the yard. He truly enjoyed the time he spent with his children and grandchildren whom will dearly miss him.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Eileen; son, Mathew; and grandson, Heath. He is survived by his children, Bob (Janet) Turner, Debbie (Tony) Stitt, and Jeffrey Turner; grandchildren; Aaron (Val) Turner, Sarah (Dustin) DeGrande, Jon Stitt, Amy Stitt, Maranda (Eric) Huss, Shannan (Randy) Robinett, Josh Turner; 16 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Casper, visitation will begin at 9:00 AM that morning. Interment will follow at Oregon Trail State Veteran's Cemetery in Evansville, Wyoming with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Trinity Lutheran Church in Jack's name.
