John W. Gardner
John W. Gardner, 87, of Casper, passed away Thursday January 4, 2007 at Canyon Hills Manor in Thermopolis, Wyoming. Memorial services will be held at the Oregon Trail State Cemetery on Tuesday January 9th at 2:00pm.

John was born November 20, 1919 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Claude and Dorothy Gardner. He was raised mainly in Oklahoma and Texas.

He served in the United States Navy prior to and during World War II being involved in the Pacific Theatre. John was in many of the historic navel battles of that war.

During WW II he met the love of his life, Margot, in New York City. They were married in August 1941. That marriage lasted fifty eight years until Margot's death in 1999. John and Margot had four children.

John worked for Standard Oil before beginning his own business John's Fix-it Service in the late 1960's and continued to work until 2003.

John had a great sense of humor and was liked by all people that came in contact with him. His grandkids loved to hear his tales and explore his closets and drawers for old memorabilia!

John was preceded in death by his wife Margot and his son Terry.

Survivors include his sons John and his wife Shirley of Thermopolis and Keith and his wife Lindy of Boise, Idaho and daughter Christine of Nashville, Tennessee. John also leaves behind seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
