Services to celebrate the life of Jack Venn will be held Monday, November 10 at 1:00 p.m. at the Anglican Church of the Resurrection at 342 S. Grant. Visitation will begin at noon prior to the celebration.
John C. (Jack) Venn left us on November 6, surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born in Irish Valley, Pennsylvania, January 16, 1924. He grew up in Shamokin and graduated from Shamokin High School in 1942. He was stationed in Casper during World War II while serving in the Air Corp. He met his wife, Amy Toman Venn. Jack was employed by the Amoco Refinery for 35 years prior to his retirement in 1979. He enjoyed camping and the outdoors, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family.
Jack will be greatly missed by Genieve Daniels of Shamokin, Pennsylvania, his long time companion, his children, Barbara Bogus of Portland, Maine, Barry Venn of Casper, and Roxanne Tysdal of Woodland Park, Colorado, his grandchildren, Stephanie Bogus (Rob Lettelier), Jennifer Bogus, Steve Bogus, Brian Venn (Stephanie), Lindsay (Venn) Gillespie, Lauren Venn, Justin Tysdal (Tracey), Angela Tysdal (Andy Babbel) and Alex Tysdal, and great grandchildren, Bret and Lane Gillespie, Dylan and Matthew Lettelier, Katie, Abby, and Eric Venn, and Tyli and Taveri Tysdal, and daugher-in-law Claire Venn, and son-in-law Peter Tysdal, and sister-in-law Mabel Mowrer.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Amy, and his grandchild, Joseph Bogus.
