John A. Hendrickson, Jr.

December 21, 1926 — March 9, 2016

In the early morning hours of March 9, 2016, John A. "Jack" Hendrickson, Jr. passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper.

On December 21, 1926, Jack was born in Cowdrey, Colorado. He was raised in North Park, Colorado and graduated from Jackson County High School in Walden in 1944. One of nine children he is survived by two sisters and four brothers.

Jack's 60 year oilfield career began in 1944 and over the years he worked for numerous oilfield companies as a roughneck, driller, hot-shot driver and drilling consultant. Through his work he traveled too many miles to count in ten western states. His family moved frequently following work and in 1970 made Casper their permanent home.

One of his favorite hobbies was fishing--anywhere he could! He liked hunting deer and elk, and shot a trophy big horn sheep. He taught the family to hunt rocks, fossils and arrowheads. He also made jewelry from many of them by cutting, polishing and mounting them---including an exquisite collection of butterflies, belt buckles and arrowhead displays.

He enjoyed building the family cabin on Casper Mountain and all manner of home improvement and "honey-do" projects for family and friends.

Jack was a hopeless romantic and devoted husband for 67 years to his wife, Carol who survives him.

His children; daughter, Cathy Reynolds; son, John A. (Margaret Morris) Hendrickson, III; and daughter, Lisa (Tim) Hebbert are honored to have loved and been loved by their incredible father and hero.

He has five grandchildren, Brittney (Sal) Hall, Nathan (Tiffany) Reynolds, Kristofer (Tamara) Hebbert, John A. "Jackson" (Amanda) Hendrickson, IV, Elizabeth Hebbert and six great grandchildren, Tobin, Shannon, Terner, Mae Elin, Jocelyn & Cecelia.

He is preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and his beloved cat, Sweety.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, March 14, 2016 at the Christ United Methodist Church, 1868 South Poplar Street, Casper, with interment to follow at Highland Cemetery.
