A memorial service will be held in memory of Joe Frank Sedar, 87, of Casper on Saturday, March 19th at 10:30 am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Joe died peacefully March 14, 2011 at Life Care of Casper surrounded by his family.
Joe was born November 23, 1923 in Casper, Wyoming to John and Marta Sedar, he grew up in Casper, and graduated from Natrona County High School. Joe served in the U.S. Navy as a Torpedoman's Mate Second Class during World War II. Returing from the Navy, he attended Casper College and played basketball for the T-birds. After finishing college, he moved to Reno Nevada, and then later settled in Las Vegas where he worked as a dealer until his retirement in 2003. In 2004 Joe moved back to Casper to be closer to his family.
He is survived by brothers, Dick (Virginia) Sedar of Casper, Bob Sedar of Mesa, Arizona; and sister Eva Bucholtz of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shannon Sedar; parents; sisters, Mary Sedar, Katie Siebken, Ann Thera, Ruby Selby, and Zora Burgess; and brothers, Dan, Mike, Pete, Paul, Tony, and John.
Joe brought laughter and happiness to all those around him, and he will be missed by many.
