Joe P. Hernandez, age 77, died Tuesday, February 20th at Wyoming Medical Center following his battle with cancer.
Joe was born in Winnemucca Nevada and has been a resident of Casper for over 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Christine J. Syrie.
Joe is survived by 3 brothers, Jess, Andre, & John, 1 sister, Vicente Hernandez, all of California & 1 brother, Lucio of Nevada, 2 daughters, Sandy Weber of Casper & Cynthia Brown of Las Vegas Nevada, 2 grandchildren, Valarie Stewart & Misty Wilson, and one great grandchild, Cynthia Reed, as well as countless friends & loved ones.
Joe was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic church. He served his country proudly in the armed forces.
Years ago, Joe worked for Kerr McGee driving ore trucks. He retired from Wyoming Machinery. After retirement, he worked for Energy Transportation, 71 Construction, & CY Car Wash.
Joe was an inventor, an innovative thinker, & a collector of antiques & various items. He had a manner of generosity which was unsurpassable. His smile & mannerisms would light up a room, & his captivating stories will be greatly missed.
Memorial services will be held on July 5th 2007, for which a reminder will be published.
