Joe Essert

On April 24, 2017 in Casper, Wyoming, God took another one of his kind souls home.

On March 15, 1943 Joseph Lee Essert was born to Joseph Lee and Eva (Schneider) (Snyder) in Yakima, WA.

He lost his father at the age of 4. Later he lost his mother at the age of 15. He then moved to Jeffrey City, WY to live with his older brother Paul T. Snyder. Later he moved back to Washington state where he married Joyce. From this union he had 2 sons; Ricky (Essert) Harmon and Timmy (Essert) McReynolds. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Where he received a Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal with "V" device, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze service stars, Presidential Unit citation, Republic of Vietnam civil actions Honor Medal First Class unit citation badge, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry cross with palm unit citation badge. When returning home, he moved to Hudson, WY to live with his young brother Carl and Gwen Essert. Later he married Noreen Williams from that union they had 2 daughters; Jody and Joleen. Joe lived in Wyoming and Washington with his family. He was reunited with his sons while in Washington. Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his father, mother, sisters; Elsie (Snyder) Axetell, Virginia (Snyder) Hoye, brother Paul Snyder and his wife Joyce. He is survived by his wife Noreen of Riverton, WY, sons; Rick Harmon of Cosmoplios, WA, Tim (Kristie) McReynolds of Gillette, WY, daughters; Jody (Tom) Wilson of Pinedale, WY, Joleen Riddle and Ryan Thomas of University Place, WA, brother Carl (Gwen) Essert of Cheyenne, WY, nephews; David (Sue Ellen) Essert of Cheyenne, WY and Troy (Amanda) Essert, of Centralia, WA, grandchildren; Amber (Vinny) Jones of Monesano, WA, Heather (Todd) Cobb of McCleary, WA, Jennifer Harmon of Aberdeen, WA, Anthony (Barbara) Strausser of Germany, Alora and Kennis McReynolds of Gillette, WY, William (Lacey) Wilson of Rock Springs, WY, Robert Wilson of Pinedale, WY, and Draven Riddle of Napavine, WA, grand nephews Jonathan and Kyle Essert of Soldtna, AK, Randy Essert of Rochester, WA, grand niece Elizabeth Essert of Centralia, WA, great grandchildren; Brooklyn and Lexis Jones of Monesano, WA, Kori and Michael Cobb of McCleary, WA and Adrik Wilson of Rock Springs, WY. He was loved by other family members and friends. He will be greatly missed.
