Mary JoAnn (Schaeffer) Meyer passed away on December 8th, 2017 in Casper, WY.
JoAnn was born August 15, 1939 to Joseph G. Schaeffer and Anna Gehring Schaeffer, the youngest of seven children, on the family farm outside of Ferdinand, Idaho.
She married B Joe Meyer in Riverton, WY on January 12th, 1960, and with their 3 children Barbara, Kelly and Jay, resided mostly in Sand Draw, WY, as part of the Northern Gas/KN Gas community. Later she worked at Jerry's Flower & Things, she loved doing flower arrangements and decorating and utilized this talent for many years in her home. Upon Joe's retirement, they moved to Casper, WY, where she enjoyed playing cards, family functions where she spoiled her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her books….she could be found browsing in any corner that offered books, often buying 2nd and even 3rd copies to add to her stacks, and then reading several books at a time. She was known for her sweet disposition and caring nature. Her lifelong commitment to her faith was very important to her and her comfort.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Kelly, sisters Loretta Bauman and Anselma Wensman, and brothers Ralph Schaeffer and Eugene Schaeffer, brother in laws, Richard Hoffman and Gillis Borg. She is survived by her husband of 57 years B Joe, daughter Barbara (Jim) Brown, son Jay Meyer, daughter in law Denise Meyer, sister Armella Haener and brother Harold (Carol) Schaeffer, sister in laws Joan Schaeffer, Ella Schaeffer, Nila Hoffman, Lynn Borg, Alice (Ron) Schmidt and Marlys (Mike) Dooley, brother in law Chuck (Jane) Borg, grandchildren Daniel Brown, Tyler Brown, Autumn Meyer, Jason Meyer, Andrew Meyer and Jack Meyer, and great-granddaughters Aubrey and Taya DuCharme-Brown, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family in Idaho and beyond, and also her special lifelong friends John and Barb Keily.
The family would welcome donations to Friends of the Natrona County Library, 307 E Second, Casper, WY 82601.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima, 1401 CY Avenue, Casper, WY, Tuesday, December 19th at 11:00, with reception following.
