JoAnne Lanham, 86, born in Wheatland, WY on July 4, 1932 to A.T. & Catherine Covington, passed away peacefully in the early morning of January 11, surrounded by her four children.
She spent her early years in Glendo, moving to Lusk when she was four. In 1943 she moved to Casper. JoAnne graduated from NCHS in 1950. She worked for the Air National Guard from 1951 to 1955 when she met and married Harold Lanham. Her hobbies, besides her family, were music and planting flowers. She will be remembered for her beautiful singing voice, singing in the St. Anthony's choir for many years. She also sang for many weddings, funerals and other events.
JoAnne was preceded in death by her parents; brother Travis; nephew Travis Jr; twin boys, Eric Ryan and Erin Patrick; and son-in-law Hal Messersmith.
She is survived by her children, Kelly Lanham of Louisville, KY, Kevin (Teresa) Lanham of Casper, Kerry Messersmith of Fort Worth, TX, and Kodi (Leroy) Arner of Casper; four very special grandchildren Meghan (Steve) Gephardt, Nathan (Anastasiia) Lanham, Brynnley Messersmith, and Alexandria (Robert) Starks; and six wonderful great-grandchildren Oliver Lanham, Maggie Starks, Kaiden Gephardt, Evyn Gephardt, Emily Lanham, and Maverick Starks.
JoAnne was a 20-year breast cancer survivor. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a contribution to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
A private service will be held.
