JoAnn Mavis Cowlthorpe, 88, of Casper, Wyoming, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019. JoAnn was born on June 7, 1930 in Norfolk, NE to Glenn and Lulu Fitch. The family moved to Omaha and later Billings, MT, then to Cody, WY where she graduated from high school. She married Clarence E. "Sonny" Cowlthorpe on August 30, 1946. They lived in Powell, WY. From 1947 until 1948 they lived in Denver, CO, while Sonny attended electronics school. After his education, they moved to Powell, WY until 1951 when they moved to Casper, WY.
JoAnn worked as a Bookkeeper in various businesses in Casper.
She loved her family and enjoyed all the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her hobbies were sewing, crafts, gardening, and decorating. She was a longtime member of the Hilltop Baptist Church and enjoyed helping with different projects.
JoAnn is survived by her daughter; Priscilla Williams of Casper, WY and son, Ron (Diane) Cowlthorpe of Denver, CO; 5 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchild and numerous other friends and relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Sonny; granddaughter, Amy Cowlthorpe; and grandson, Bin Christopher Williams.
