Joan Louise Tubridy
Joan Louise Tubridy was born August 25, 1929 to Louise B. (Butler) Clark and Harold W. "Bud" Clark in Casper, WY. She grew up in Casper and graduated from N.C.H.S. in 1947. She was employed by Schlumberger Well Service Petroleum Information, and Shell Oil Company. On August 23, 1949, she married George A. "Jack" Tubridy. She passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family, on September 15, 2017.
Instead of going back into the workforce after her children were born, Joan began her volunteer career. She volunteered with various nonprofit organizations and in 1984 she started as a volunteer with the Cancer Treatment Center and Hospice program. She volunteered several years for the Wyoming Medical Center, and frequently commented that she was a career volunteer. Joan was still a volunteer with Rocky Mountain Oncology in her late 80s. She often said she gained more as a volunteer than the patients did. She felt lucky to have met so many wonderful, courageous people trying to beat cancer. Regretfully, she had to retire from her volunteer work at the age of 84 because of her health.
Joan is survived by her husband Jack, daughter Jan DeBeer (Steve Bozich), son Greg (Dolly) Tubridy, sister Mary Pottorff, grandson Kyle (Bryann) DeBeer, grandsons Grant Tubridy and Connor Tubridy, great grandson Emerson DeBeer, and beloved dog Duke.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother Gene Clark, and her faithful canine friend Jake.
Joan requests that donations be made in her honor to the Casper Humane Society, Casper Metro Animal Control Center or an organization of the donor's choice. At her request, there will be no memorial service. To leave a special message for Joan's family, please visit www.NewcomerCasper.com
