Jerry Emgarten

Jerry Jual Emgarten of Evansville passed away at home Thursday March 30th, 2006 after a short illness with his wife, daughters Robyn and Paula, and grandson Jeffrey at his side.

Born September 12, 1934 in Arcadia, Nebraska to Nora Clarissa (McCall) and William Henry Frederick Emgarten. At an early age, the family moved to Adair County Iowa, where Mr. Emgarten Sr. farmed, established a blue grass stripping business, and owned and operated the John Deere dealership; these businesses were where Jerry learned life skills and values.
Jerry was educated and graduated from Adair High School. He married Myrna Eileen Rochholz; they had three children, Jimmie Lynn, Mary Clarice, and Jeffery Lee.
His work ethic was always above reproach and he worked long and hard in many fields... farming, carpentry, roofing, the oil fields and welding; he once stated," I've even been a butcher (farming), a baker (at home), and a candlestick maker (school project)."
In October 1973, he met Sandy Peck at a Junior High School function where their children were performing; they later married on March 25th, 1977 in Baggs, Wyoming. Thus began the blended family that has traveled many miles, had many adventures, and afforded Jerry many days of happiness and added many gray hairs. Jerry and Sandy celebrated their 29th anniversary on Saturday. They moved to the Casper area in
1993 and he worked at Natco until his retirement in 2003. When not working in the yard or "cluttering" in the garage, he enjoyed hunting, fishing at Pathfinder, camping on Muddy Mountain, watching or reading westerns and "buggin'" the kids.
Jerry is survived by his wife of the family home, son Jim and wife Kathy and grandsons Jeremy and Cody, daughter Mary and sons David and Joseph all of Greeley, Colorado; daughter Robyn and grandson Jeffrey, daughter Paula (Daniel) Litzin of Casper, sisters Opal of Rhode Island, Imo of Iowa, and numerous Iowa nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
His parents, first wife, brothers Leo, Harold, and William, sister Bethene, one niece and one great
niece, his son-in-law and best friend Roccy Derrico and his faithful Lab "Bear" preceded him in death.
At his request there will be no services. Cremation has taken place. On Memorial Day weekend, the
family will gather at Pathfinder Lake to send Jerry, Roccy, and "Bear" on "The Big Fishing Trip."
Memorials may be sent in Jerry's name to the Casper Humane Society, 849 East "E" St., Casper,
Wy.82601.
