Jerry Tippit
Jerry Tippit of Bar Nunn died at the Wyoming Medical Center on Saturday, September 12, 2009 while recovering from a short illness.
He was born in Nowata, Oklahoma on October 13, 1948 to Jim and Dorothy Tippit and attended grade school there. As a result of his father's transfer to Fort Morgan, Colorado he attended middle and high schools in Fort Morgan. He attended Otero Junior College in La Junta and obtained a bachelor's degree from the University of Wyoming.
He worked on newspapers in Brighton, Colorado, Riverton, Wyoming and here in Casper. He was also employed by Sears, Bethlehem Steel and Welsh Furniture before becoming a bus driver for CATC.
On August 26, 1979 he married Marybeth Stewart of Casper. Together they had two children, Shannon, 22 attending the University of Wyoming, and PFC Aaron, 20, currently stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
He is survived by his father, Jim, wife, Marybeth, daughter, Shannon, son, Aaron, daughter-in-law Cassie and grandson, Jayson Jerald.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the Casper Senior Citizens Center.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to CATC at 1715 East 4th here in Casper or the American Red Cross Emergency Military Travel Fund, at 3619 Evans Avenue, Cheyenne, WY, 82001.
