Mrs. Jeannie Kay Williams Clements, of Casper, WY, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the age of 61.
Jeannie was born to James Roy Williams and Anna Marjorie (Anderson) Williams on April 6, 1957 in Jackson, TN. Jeannie's early years were spent in Lexington, TN, where she was surrounded by many friends and a large, close-knit family. She went to Lexington High School, where she was involved in numerous clubs and activities. After high school, she attended Middle Tennessee State University and optician school at Southern College of Optometry. It was here that she met John Clements, her husband of 41 years. They married in Lexington, TN in 1978 and the two moved to Wyoming to start their life together. Jeannie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and valued member of the Casper community. She had a tremendous love for her family and friends. Her love was contagious, and her caring nature and Southern charm left a lasting impression on all who met her. Jeannie's loving nature was evident in her small deeds, words of encouragement, warm hugs, compassion, thoughtfulness, and her desire to make other's lives' better.
Jeannie loved to travel. She had a roaming spirit, and a never-ending desire to explore destinations near and far. Jeannie and John never tired of traveling, and together they journeyed to countless beautiful and exciting destinations. No matter where they went, she always tried to find old, dilapidated barns, covered bridges, lighthouses, churches, and the like. She loved the idea of old structures with plenty of history and stories to tell.
Jeannie was a proud Wyomingite (who never lost her southern accent), and she truly loved her adopted state of Wyoming. However, she was proud of her Tennessee roots and her bond to her home state remained strong. She never missed an opportunity to talk about her Tennessee upbringing, and passed on countless stories of her friends, family, and the wonderful memories she had of growing up in the South. Jeannie wanted her family to feel connected to her hometown of Lexington, and her home state of Tennessee, so they frequently made trips "back home."
Jeannie loved to take pictures of everything and everyone. As far as Jeannie was concerned, there was no moment too small, no occasion too insignificant that it shouldn't to be documented with a photo. It was a rare occasion that she didn't have a camera in her hand. Not a Christmas went by that Jeannie didn't present her grandchildren with a hand-made, year-in-review photo book.
Jeannie was truly cherished by her friends and family. To know her was to love her. She had an unrivaled spirit of kindness and generosity, and she had a genuine warmth that filled the hearts of those around her. One simply couldn't help but feel welcomed and loved when in her presence.
Jeannie worked at the Kelly Walsh High School Daycare for 17 years. She made some truly wonderful friends during her time at Kelly Walsh, and she had so many wonderful memories from her time there. She has always held a very special place in heart for her "KW mamas" and her "KW babies."
Jeannie loved holidays and celebrations. She loved surrounding herself with family to commemorate any kind of occasion or achievement. She would spend weeks, or even months, planning holidays, birthdays, etc. because she always wanted to make things extra special for the ones she loved. Nobody could put together a fun, memorable gathering quite like Jeannie.
Jeannie is survived by her husband, Dr. John K. Clements; her son and his wife, Dr. Ryan and Christina Clements; her daughter and her husband, Kelli and Jeremy Moyle; her brother, Jim and Stephania Williams; and four grandchildren, Emmy Moyle, Adelynn Moyle, Tyler Clements and Emily Clements, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents James Roy and Margie.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., March 21, 2019 at Highland Park Community Church, 5725 Highland Dr. Casper, Wyoming.
