A long time Casper resident, Jeanette passed from this earth to be with our Lord on February 17, 2011 at Life Care Center in Casper, Wyoming. She was born May 11, 1921 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Henry and Elizabeth DeMarah. She grew up with one sister and two brothers and married Kenneth Charles LeClere on September 21, 1939. In 1954, Ken and Jeanette relocated to Casper where they established their home. Jeanette served the Casper community as the Western Welcome Hostess from 1957-1979. She was president of the Casper Newcomers Club, treasurer of St. Anthony's Ladies Fellowship, a coordinator for the St. Anthony's funeral meals, and an avid volunteer for the Holy Cross Center. In addition, she and her husband were the first Presidents of the Cana Club of Casper and managed the Catholic Conference Center from 1980-1994.
People who knew Jeanette would describe her as a very gentle and welcoming person who knew no strangers. She loved to play bridge, cook, walk and help those less fortunate than herself. She always made a point of saying how lucky she was and her graciousness was endless. She is survived by 4 daughters, Elizabeth Nelson, Michelle Killmer, Laura Zook (Brian) of Casper, Mary Perkins (Mark) of Torrington, a son, Kenneth Charles (K.C.) (Shelley) of Casper; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Kenneth, her parents, one sister and two brothers. She will be missed by her extended family in Cedar Rapids, as well as her friends at St. Anthony's Manor and the caregivers at Life Care Nursing Home. Throughout her life she was a devoted and caring mother and grandmother and will forever be in our hearts. We will miss you!
Visitation will be 6:00 PM followed by the Parish Rosary at 7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Anthony's Catholic Church or St. Anthony's School would be appreciated. Contributions may be made through Newcomer Funeral Home.
