Memorial services for Jean M. Jones will be Thursday, January 16th at 11:00 am at the First United Methodist Church. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be at Oregon Trail State Veterans' Cemetery at a later date. She died on January 11th following a long battle with numerous health problems.
Jean was born in Vancouver, Washington on November 29, 1937 to Reuben and Dorothy (Booth) Anderson. She was raised in Sunrise, Wyoming and graduated from high school there in 1955.
On August 27, 1955, she married the love of her life, Max W. Jones in Guernsey, Wyoming.
Following their marriage, they continued to reside in Guernsey until 1961,when they moved to Lusk, where her husband became an insurance agent. They lived in Lusk for six years and moved to Casper in 1968. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, in addition to assisting her husband for many years in the insurance business
Her interests included various crafts, cross stitch, knitting and crocheting. Sewing and playing the piano were also two of her favorite past times. Following in her mother's footsteps, she could make the best homemade bread you will ever find. She enjoyed making stained glass projects, cake decorating and shopping. She and her husband also enjoyed traveling in their motor home with other Good Sam members (Whirlwinds) and taking cruises.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and sang in the choir for many years, until ill health forced her to stop. She enjoyed attending Fine Arts and was a driver for Meals on Wheels for many years.
She loved spending time with family and friends and her two shih-tzu's, Precious and CC.
Survivors include son Paul (Petra) Jones; daughter Paula (Tom) Loranc, both of Casper; Geri (Mike) Jones of Texas; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her brother.
