Margaret Jean Lee Gillum, 83 , passed away peacefully at Central Wyoming Hospice on February 4, 2013. She was born March 6, 1929 to E.H. Norton Lee and Mary (Bryant) Lee in Rock Springs, WY; was raised and educated there graduating from Rock Springs High School in 1947. She continued her education in nursing attending CU-Boulder, CO. She married James P. Gillum on Dec. 2, 1950, and started her career as a loving wife, mother, and homemaker, guiding the family through several moves, from Casper to Guatemala, Costa Rica, Argentina, Toowoomba, Australia and back to Casper in 1966. She was an active member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Geo-wives, Casper Service League, and volunteer for Meals On Wheels, St. Vincent DePauls, and St. Anthony's Manor.
She is survived by two sons, Dr. David M. Gillum (Mary) of Denver, CO; Jeffrey L. Gillum (Cheryl) of Casper; daughter Mary L. Diesburg (Rick) of Casper; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sisters Carolyn Copenhaver, Barbara Knudsen, and her brother John Lee.
A rosary will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home at 7:00 pm Friday, February 15, 2013. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 16, 2013 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. A reception will be held at the Casper Petroleum Club immediately following the service.
