Jay Nation

August 7, 1930 — April 14, 2012

On April 14, 2012, Jay C. Nation began his sunset peacefully surrounded by his family at Wyoming Medical Center from a short illness. He began his sunrise on August 7, 1930 when he was born in Ft. Washakie, Wyoming to Robert and Winnie (Lajeunesse) Nation. He graduated in 1945 from Haskel High Indian School.

On August 13, 1958 he began a union of marriage to Judy Gunzenhauser that lasted 53 years. He served the community as a firefighter for the Casper Fire Department; from 1957 until his retirement in 1985 as the rank of Captain. He also owned and operated Nation Construction as a dry waller and taper. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, and stock car racing. Often he was just out in the yard where he loved to tinker on his older tractors and cars. He was a strong, fair, and good man. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Judy. Daughters Toni Nation, Roberta Marvel, Susan Perea and sons Jay G. (Bonnie) Nation, Morgan (Connie) Nation, Terry (Jamie) Nation all of Casper. One brother Sherman Nation of Arizona. 21 grandchildren,16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one baby sister Ruth, one daughter Jonnie and one grandson Cole.

At his request no services will be held. In lieu of flowers donations to the Casper Humane Society 849 E. E. St. Casper, WY., 82601 would be appreciated.
