Janet Leigh Wolfe died September 18, 2023 at the Central Wyoming Hospice after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Janet was born October 28, 1951 to David William (Bill) Wolfe and Norma Lee Jones Wolfe at Ft McCoy, Wisconsin. Janet attended Westwood Elementary School and was in the first group to complete 3 years at CY Junior High. Janet graduated from Natrona County High School in 1969. She attended Wentworth College where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree. She later went on to get her Master's Degree.
Janet was an adventurer and loved traveling. After college she went to Paris to work as an 'au pair'. She saw a
Shakespearean play at the Globe Theatre in London and much more. Janet visited many foreign countries; her favorite being Great Britain. Janet lived on both the Atlantic and Pacific coast and loved the ocean. She loved seeing the USA and visited all the states in the lower 48, except Delaware.
Janet returned to Casper 17 years ago to be near her father, who recently passed. She loved theater and enjoyed being General Manager and performing in plays at Stage Ill Theater as well as supporting Caper College Theater with her attendance and donations.
Janet blessed us all with her sharp wit and sense of humor in all things, including her cancer journey. On the day she got her final prognosis she said, "Hallelujah! I won't have to listen to any presidential campaigning!" Janet, the doctor and I all laughed together.
Janet is survived by Gail Leslie and Sharon Berry, her sisters in friendship to the end, her cousins and many great friends. At Janet's request there will be no services. She asked that a tree be planted with her ashes in her memory.
If you wish to raise a glass to Janet, please do. She liked nothing better than a cold dark ale at a local restaurant.
Cheers, Janet! We'll miss you!
