A wonderful lady and Casper resident, Jane Pearson Wold passed away peacefully at the age of 92 at her home in Casper, Wednesday, November 18 with her family present.
Jane was born in Schenectady, New York on April 17,1923, the daughter of Joseph and Margarette Pearson. Jane attended the Brown School in Schenectady, St Agnes School for Girls in Albany, New York and Wheelock College in Boston, Massachusetts.
Mrs. Wold moved to Casper the winter of 1949 from Houston, Texas with her husband John, a petroleum geologist. She and John made their home in Casper over the last 66 years. Starting in the early 1950's Jane was an active volunteer in the Casper community as a Board member of the Casper YMCA, the Casper Garden Club, Casper Planned Parenthood and the Friends of the Library.
Jane was a devoted wife to her husband John and was his biggest supporter in his many business and political activities.
Jane is survived by her husband of 69 years, former Wyoming Congressman John S. Wold, their three children Peter I. Wold and wife Marla of Casper, Priscilla W. Longfield of Portland, Oregon, and Jack P. Wold and wife Hildy of Denver; eight grandchildren: Court Wold and his wife Cullen of Denver, Holly Anderson and her husband Erik of Denver, Allison Wold of Houston, Texas, Abbie Long and her husband Steve of Seattle, Washington, Matthew Wold and wife Katie of Denver, Joe Wold and wife Chelsey of Boston, MA, Cecily Read and her husband George of Ithaca, New York and Claire Longfield of Brooklyn, New York.
The family expresses appreciation to the wonderful caregivers who helped Mrs. Wold in her final years.
A memorial service will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church on Tuesday, November 24th at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to the Casper YMCA at 315 East 15th St. Casper, WY 82601.
