James M. Wilson, age 100, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016. He was Born May 22, 1916.
He was from a family of 10 children born to Desmond and Lillian Wilson in Cowley, Wyoming.
Jim married Vivian Christensen, also from Cowley, in 1940. The family moved to Casper in 1942, where Jim began a long career with Standard Oil Co. (Amoco), retiring in 1978.
Jim's mantra was "Motion is the key to life". He was always active and loved sports, playing for his Cowley team in the 1934 Wyoming State High School basketball championship game in the old NCHS gym.
An avid fly fisherman and a strong proponent of "catch and release", He and his wife Vivian, who passed away in 1994, loved bowling, participating for many years with various leagues in Casper.
Jim was along time supporter of the Casper Family YMCA and is featured in a YMCA video that can be seen online at youtube.com, enter key words "motion is the key to life"
Survivors include, son Mike Wilson (Judy) of Cleveland, Ohio. Two grand daughters, Corri Klemola, Fort Myers Beach, Florida and Heidi Brown, Brook Park, Ohio, and two great grand children. Brothers, Ray Wilson of Seattle, Washington and Robert Wilson of Cody, Wyoming.
No service is planned, but memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Central Wyoming Hospice, 319 S. Wilson, Casper, Wy 82601
