James A. Smith, Jr., 91, of Evansville, Wyoming passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper, Wyoming.
Jim worked at the Pathfinder Mine for almost 20 years before retiring in 1993. After his retirement he was able to spend his days doing what he enjoyed most, gold prospecting. He started his hobby in 1974 and fell in love with the Wyoming outdoors panning for gold.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Shirley in 1992; son, Donald Edward Smith; daughter, Debra Ann Strayer; brothers, Glen, Melvin, Walter and Earl; sisters, Kay, Maxine, Betty Lou and Louise.
Jim is survived by his children, Aldene "Dee" Biddelcome and James A. (Debra) Smith, III; two grandchildren, Rob Biddlecome and Trish (David) Gregory; three great granddaughters, Nathan Gregory, Gracie Dawn Gregory and Jolene Biddlecome; one great great-granddaughter; brother, Bobby Smith; sister, Violet English; numerous other nieces, nephews and other relatives.
