We mourn the passing of James S. (Jimmy) Lott; having died peacefully in the early morning of August 1st at the Poplar Living Center of Casper after a short battle with leukemia. His friends and family were at his side throughout his illness.
Jimmy was born March 31, 1933 in Ft. Stanton, New Mexico. The family moved to Casper, Wyoming, with Jimmy graduating from Natrona County High School in 1952. After graduation, Jimmy enlisted in the United States Navy and served until 1956.
Upon exiting the Navy, Jimmy put his new-found skills to work at the Engineering Department of the University of Eastern Washington, in Cheney, Washington, where he worked at and retired from 38 years later.
Jimmy never met a man he didn't like. His hobbies included people, travel, golf, history and gold mining; he was an accomplished 'handy-man' always had a 'project' in the works fixing or improving something or someplace, often times for his many friends.
He spent the last 14 years with his companion Shirley Sibrel, splitting their time between residences in Casper, Wyoming and Mohave Valley, Arizona. His survivors include his sister Anabeth (Ort) and her husband and friend Henry, his children James Sibrel, Robby Lott, Joann Peavler, James Lott and Tami McKnight. He will be missed by his many grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well.
Jimmy asked to be cremated and put to rest at the Oregon Trail State Veteran's Cemetery near Evansville, Wyoming. Services will be held in the Chapel at the Cemetery at 2pm this Friday, August 3rd. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Central Wyoming Hospice in his name would be greatly appreciated.
