James Myron Parker was born in Seattle, Washington to Harlene and Norman Parker on October 25th, 1944. He went to school at Natrona County High School. He married his soul mate, Norma Jean Miller, on February 14th, 1966 in Casper, Wyoming. He worked for the Highway Department for many years then worked as a contract coordinator for Amoco Refinery until retirement . He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Navy Seabees. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Jim could be described as the best father and Papa that anyone could ask for. He was the strongest and hardest working man. He built a cabin in the Big Horns with his bare hands from the logs off the land. It took him over 5 years with help from family and friends, which he was deeply proud of such an accomplishment. He was known for his words of wisdom, "Moderation is the key"and "Don't take any crap off of nobody". He had the ability to give everyone he knew a nickname such as his daughters were known as pinky and pumpkin. Jim and his wife were known for the truest love that ever existed. Fishing was his second love to the cabin, but most of all he just loved being with his family.
Jim is preceded in death by his mother and father, and Jack and Leona Garman.
Jim is survived by Norma, the love of his life, Carrie his daughter and her husband William, Jamie his second daughter and her husband Christopher. His beloved grandchildren, Andrew, Aiden, Avery, and Finn. Siblings Holly and Glen, Susan and Gary, Rod and Renea, and Beth. His best friends Johnny "Fuzz" Roger "Rog", Bob "Mr. Tremendous", and Jay. Also Jennifer, Louis and family.
Pallbearers will be Andrew and Aiden Staker, Chris Rohrer, William Yates, Glen Slabaugh, John Garman, and honorary pallbearers Roger Snell and Louis Rohrer.
In lieu of flowers, Jim would love for donations to the Veterans.
