James Bruce Jackson

January 31, 1951 — August 6, 2021

James Bruce Jackson passed away at his home in Casper, Wyoming, from natural causes on August 6, 2021.

Jim was born January 31, 1951. He was the only child of James and Helen (Galles) Jackson.

He graduated from Natrona County High School with the class of 1969 and attended Casper College.

Jim joined and proudly served in the Wyoming Air National Guard. He went on to work at the Dave Johnson Power Plant in Glenrock, Wyoming, for his entire professional career and retired as a Control Operator after over 45 years of employment. Jim enjoyed giving tours of the power plant where he would explain the process of generating electricity. At the end of each tour, he would tell the guests: "And that's why, when you flip the switch, the lights go on."

After he retired, he became a private consultant at the power plant assisting in maintenance projects.

He enjoyed being outdoors caring for his property, which is home to many trees he planted and tended to for over 40 years. He could always be seen outside watering his trees, drinking a beer and enjoying a good cigar.

Jim is survived by his former wife, Mary; his children, Amanda McKeithen of Casper (Marcus) and Brian Jackson of Las Vegas; along with four grandchildren: Trevor, Tanner, James, and Arianna.

He was preceded in death by his parents James and Helen Louise (Galles) Jackson

Jim will be truly missed by his friends and family. He will be remembered for his work ethic and integrity.
