Jim Hanlin, 78, passed away January 26th, 2018. He was born to the late Jack and Helen Hanlin, August 13, 1939, in Douglas, Wyoming. Jim graduated from Douglas High School in 1957.
Jim served in the 15th Infantry Regiment of the United States Army, and was stationed in Bamberg Germany in 1958. He married Sharon Gillespie on August 31, 1961.
Jim worked for Halliburton for over 30 years in both the US and overseas. He worked his way up to Division manager. His work found him in Wyoming, Nigeria, Scotland, Norway, the Netherlands, Dubai, and Algeria.
Jim and Sharon moved back to Casper, Wyoming in 1993. He retired 4 years later.
Jim was an athlete, and excelled in baseball, track, basketball, and football in high school. His later ventures included curling, and becoming a champion skeet shooter. He loved fishing and spending time at the cabin with his brother Dave of Sheridan, Wyoming.
Jim is survived by his wife, his brother, Dave Hanlin (Mary) of Sheridan, Wyoming, his three children Todd (Jennifer) of Windsor, Colorado, Brett (Renee) of Powell, Wyoming, and Tracey Hanlin of Casper, and his niece, Lisa Schied (Syl) and nephew, Steve Hanlin, (Mary Beth). Jim has six grandchildren, Allison Gooderum (Matt), Brian Hanlin (Yara), Emma Hanlin, Meg Hanlin, Davis Coziahr, Kayleigh Coziahr, and one great grandson, Remy James Hanlin. Jim was loved by his family, and proud of each family member.

Services will be held at the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery chapel in Evansville, Wyoming at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018 with a reception to follow at the V.F.W., 1800 Bryan Stock Trail in Casper.
