James Charles Henry

December 15, 1958 — July 31, 2013

James Charles "Jim" Henry passed away Wednesday July 31, 2013 at 11:00PM. Cause of death was cardiac arrest due to infection and pneumonia. Jim was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease Scleroderma in 2011 which causes tissue hardening and ultimately a weakened condition.

A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 10:00AM at Highland Park Community Church.

Jim was born in Aurora, Illinois on December 15, 1958. He was raised in Aurora and graduated high school from West Aurora High School in 1977. Shortly after high school, he and his cousin Mark Dobrenski moved west to Bozeman, Montana to begin the adventure of living out west. There he started his working life as a carpenter and met and fell in love with Lynda Young. They were married in Choteau MT on September 4, 1982.

Pizza Hut career advancements moved the family to Billings MT and eventually Casper WY where Jim and Lynda raised their three kids, Coleman, Shane, and Meaghan. In 1998, Jim purchased the Poplar St. Dairy Queen in Casper and built a second store in 2001.

Jim was passionate about everything he did; most importantly he vigorously pursued a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and encouraged the same in everyone around him. Jim was a gifted musician and led worship in his church and at national Fellowship of Christian Athletes conferences. Jim was also an avid fisherman and hunter and loved the Montana and Wyoming outdoors. Jim enjoyed competitive sports and coached grade school girls' basketball and Casper youth baseball. He was the announcer at Casper College basketball games and Wyoming state basketball tournaments for several years. Jim thrived on relationships with people and was a remarkably loving, positive, humorous, and encouraging friend and mentor to many people.

Jim is survived by his father Bill Henry of Casper, his brothers Bill and John of Las Vegas NV, his wife Lynda and son Shane(Krystal) of Casper, and his son Coleman (Mischa) and daughter Meaghan of Laramie. He was preceded in death by his mother Dolores and brother Bob.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations can be made to Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church of Casper or The Scleroderma Foundation (www.scleroderma.org).
