Jackie (Weber) Baker was born in Casper, Wyoming on June 1, 1977. She died in her Casper home, December 13, 2009.
Jackie attended Natrona County High School, graduating in 1995. Jackie had many interests and followed all of them with a passion. She attended Casper College, Beauty College in Georgia, and Massage Therapy School in Georgia as well. She enjoyed working retail at Macy's and Aveda Salons and working at the Sears Photography Studio. By far her greatest love was working with and caring for children. She was a nanny on different occasions and worked for a school district in Denver in a special needs classroom.
She married Gary Baker, her soul mate, in April of 2005 at her beloved Red Rocks Amphitheatre. They lived in Georgia for a period of time and returned to the Rocky Mountains and lived in Denver, Colorado for several years. Jackie and Gary loved spending times outdoors with friends and traveled all over the country to see WideSpread Panic. Jimmy and P-nut, their dogs, were just as special to them as any children could have been and often more work. At the time of her death, Jackie had returned to Casper.
Jackie was happiest when she was "familyin'". She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. She had an amazing group of friends that loved her dearly. Her nephew Noah was the light of her eye and she was his greatest fan.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends including, but not limited to; her husband, Gary Baker of Denver, her parents, Leon and Sandy Weber of Casper, Jim and Shar Kountz of Evansville, her sister Jan and her husband Steve Nelson of Casper, grandparents Shirley Nash and Burrell and Jean Weber all of Casper, Stacy and Frank Gruber, Sara and Aaron Emery, Joe Kountz, Darin and Christy Kountz, Cheri and Jerry Cook all of Casper, and Valarie and Damien Stewart of Fort Worth, TX. She will always be remembered as Silly Aunt Jackie by her very special nieces and nephews, Noah Sweeney, Nash Nelson, Dillion Kuhn, Trinity, Meadoux and Kanyon Gruber, Michael, Rachel, and Kiersten Emery, Taylor and Jason Cook. She was anxiously awaiting her newest niece coming in March. Her special earth angel was never far from her thoughts. She was greeted in heaven by her grandfather Paul Nash and her aunt Linda Castor.
Cremation has taken place. Jackie's cremains will be scattered at her favorite places, Red Rocks and the family cabin at a later date.
A celebration of Jackie's life will take place at the Old Yellowstone Garage, 355 West Yellowstone, on Saturday December 19th at 2:00. Join us to remember Jackie and share stories of her life.
In lieu of flowers, Jackie would have appreciated donations to Special Olympics of Wyoming, as some of Jackie's proudest moments were spent watching Noah compete. Arrangements under the direction of Newcomer Funeral Home.
