A memorial service for Jack L. Harper will be held Saturday, December 17,2005 at Evansville Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. with Jack Weaver officiating. Mr. Harper died at Wyoming Medical Center on December 13, 2005.
Mr. Harper was born in Ridge, Montana to Frank and Edna Boggess on March 23, 1927. He was later adopted by his step father, Rueben Harper. He attended school at Rocky Point, Wyoming and went into the army in 1944. He married Pearl I. Faith in 1947 in Twin Falls, Idaho where they lived until moving back to Wyoming in 1948. Their fIrst home in Wyoming was a sheep wagon. They had two children, Larry and Lynda. For many years the family moved throughout Wyoming and Montana following work in the oilfields. In 1973, Jack went to work at FMC Trona Mine in Lyman, Wyoming, where he retired in 1989. At the time of his death, he and his wife were living in Casper, Wyoming.
Jack was known for his calm ways and sense of humor. He loved to fish, hunt, and camp. As his health deteriorated, his favorite hobby was feeding and watching the squirrels in his yard.
Survivors include his wife Pearl, son and daughter-in-law Larry and Ginger Harper, brothers Willard Harper, George Harper, and Richard Harper from Casper, brother Lloyd Harper from Rifle; Colorado, brother Ted Boggess from Sheridan, sister Ruby Ballard from Farmington, New Mexico, two grandsons and their wives, and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
