Jacala Albin

September 23, 1942 — February 22, 2019

Jacala Mae Albin, "Kay" 76, died peacefully in the early morning of February 22, 2019 at Wyoming Central Hospice surrounded by family. Kay was born September 23, 1942 in Clovis New Mexico to Raymond and Izeta Chism and grew up in Dimmitt Texas with her brother and sister, RC and Melba.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, husband Frank, granddaughter Farrah Nelson, grandson Zachary Katzenmeyer, daughter-in-law Shelly Lenz, as well as her beloved Maltese dogs Mia and Makala. She leaves behind 11 grandchildren (Kenny, Jackie, Christina, Jessica, Eric, Holden, Kennedy, Johnathon, Zayne, Jerry and Kendra)--and 21 great grandchildren.

After high school, she married Frank Lenz and began life as an Army wife. Together they raised 4 children; Beverly Rosen (Joe) of Casper Wyoming, Kim Goodwin (Bo Bath) of Waco Kentucky, Kirk Lenz (Shelly-deceased) of Thornton Colorado and Rena Williams (Darrell) of Lake Charles LA. They also cared for and raised several foster children including their adopted daughter, Glenee Lenz of Casper Wyoming. During this time, she attended Cosmetology School and went on to manage the May D & F Salon in Cherry Creek. She was also active in the PTA and Modern Homemakers EHU.

After Frank passed, she married Jerry Albin and lived in Seattle where she continued her Cosmetology career. Kay became one of the exclusive hair stylists for many Seattle Seahawk players and their families. Jerry and Kay went on to live in many areas of the country including Las Vegas, Texas, Florida and finally, Casper Wyoming.

Kay, always a hospitable sweet southern Texan, enjoyed travel, arts and crafts, and cooking--but she was especially passionate about children and animals. She and Frank in the 1970's were the first to get the Adams County School District in Denver to mainstream special needs children in public schools. And in Seattle, Kay worked as a probation officer for teens and a child advocate for the State of Washington. Kay enjoyed her affection for animals while working at a Veterinarian's clinic in Las Vegas.

Our family would especially like to thank Rachel and Joyia Clark, the wonderful RN's at Rocky Mountain Oncology as well as Susie Holladay and all the ladies of Kay's sorority--Beta Sigma Phi—Laureate Lambda PI--Chapter 1388 for their gracious help with Kay during her last few months of life.

Her vibrant personality, quick wit, and especially her big heart, will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Kay at 10 am on May 4th at Highlands Park Community Church in Casper Wyoming with a luncheon reception to follow.
