Ivy May Johnson

February 24, 1950 — March 26, 2023

Ivy May Johnson, 73, of Casper, Wy, passed away on March 26th, 2023, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Ivy was born on February 24, 1950, to Ruda and Myrtle Smith in Odessa, Texas. After moving around as a child, Ivy's family settled in Casper, Wy. Ivy graduated from Natrona County High School in 1968. She spent her early adulthood in Colorado and Montana, where she married her first husband Stan Fox in 1969. They divorced in November of 1982.

Ivy married Marion Johnson on June 14th, 1983, and they were married until his passing in October of 2007. They had 2 children, Melanie Ann Tuck and Michael Lee Johnson. Ivy had many jobs during her life. She worked at a butcher shop, helped rehabilitate wild animals, worked as a preschool teacher, helped run her sister's café, worked at UPS, and even did some go-go dancing. Ivy was always busy and could find something to do anywhere she went. She spent most of her time as a homemaker taking care of her son and helping with her three grandchildren; Damon, Caelin, and Cooper.

Ivy loved working in her yard and decorating it for all occasions. For years people have driven by her house just to see what new Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas decorations she had up. She loved making people smile.

Ivy also loved finding good deals, especially at garage sales and thrift stores. If you needed anything, Ivy probably had it at her house, and she was more than eager to share her treasures with you. She had a great sense of humor and loved talking to anyone. She could make a new friend every time she went out.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruda E. Lee Smith and Myrtle Lovenia Smith, and her husband, Marion Burton Johnson.

She is survived by her sister Denice Cook (Dave Cook); daughter, Melanie Ann Tuck (Josh Hodges); son, Michael Lee Johnson; and grandsons, Damon Kain Berryhill, Caelin Michael Brandon, and Cooper John Tuck. She will be greatly missed.
