Memorial services for Worland resident, Irene Wright, 69, will be conducted at 11:00am, Monday, June 2 at Newcomer Funeral Home in Casper, WY. Services will be conducted by Chris Limmer.
Irene passed away peacefully in Casper at Central Wyoming Hospice Center Wednesday, May 28, 2014 after a courageous battle with brain cancer with family at her side.
She was born a twin on December 2, 1944 in Mills, Wyoming to Orville H. McIntosh and Bertha A. (Vaught) McIntosh. She was raised and went to school in Mills, and high school at N.C.H.S. graduating in 1963.
On April 24, 1964 she married George Patrick Rodgers, Jr. in Casper, WY. They had two children, Patrick Michael and Michele Lynn and moved to the Rodgers family ranch in 1974. George died on March 24, 1980 and she lived there until turning operations over to her son in 1986. She was a 4-H leader and Superintendent of the Sheep Barn for 15 years. She loved watching her children in 4-H and Poison Spider Track. One of her favorite pastimes was collecting antiques and time with her sisters. Most of all, she loved watching and playing with her grandchildren and all of their activities.
She married Leon Wright December 17, 1994. Irene worked for the US Federal Government - Shoshone National Forest Service until her retirement in Cody, WY in June of 2011.
Survivors include her children: Patrick Michael Rodgers, and his son, Aayden Patrick Rodgers (Jennifer and Brylee Defreece) of Casper; and Michele Lynn Schlager (John) of Worland, and their children, Elizabeth McCotter (Sean) of Billings, MT, Julie Schlager of Billings, MT; her brother, Elvin (Sheila) McIntosh of Casper; her five sisters, Jean Perry of Casper, Norma Pigg of Laramie, Donna (Jerry) Gladson of Buffalo, her twin sister Eilene (Melvin) Nelson of Douglas, and Judy Hageman of Hartville; her brother in law, Kelly Rodgers (Kathy) of Salt Lake City, UT and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both parents, husband, George Patrick Rodgers, Jr., brothers, Jimmie McIntosh and Bob McIntosh; brothers-in-law, Pete Perry, Larry Pigg and Bill Hageman.

Arrangements are under the direction of Newcomer Funeral Home. Cremation has already taken place.
