CASPER -- Memorial services for Howard Winston Henderson, 89, will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, August 18, 2008, at the Life Care Center Garden area, 4041 S. Poplar St Casper.
He died on August 13, 2008, at Life Care Center of Casper.
He was born on May 11, 1919, in Indianapolis, Ind., to James Claude and Ernestina (Russell) Henderson.
He served overseas in the U.S. Army during WWII and was employed in various types of jobs he enjoyed over the years.
He was a devoted and caring husband to his wife Irene, who, for a while, was also a Life Care Center resident until her passing in 2000.
His free-spirited way of living, great sense of humor, and intriguing stories from the road he chose to travel will be fondly remembered.
He is survived by his by nieces, Phyllis Ruddles of Indianapolis, Ind., and Janice Rae and her husband; nephews, Robert J., Patrick G., James R., of Sacramento, Calif.; a sister-in-law and friends and acquaintances in and around the Casper area.
He was predeceased by his brother, James Russell Henderson, in 2007; four other siblings, two half-brothers and two half-sisters.
Newcomer Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
