Helen Mitton,91, of Casper, Wyoming passed away on January 30, 2017 at the Life Care Center of Casper.
Helen would like to let you know that her work here is done.
She received a call, a sort of an offer you can't refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time.
Funeral service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home at 11:00AM on Thursday February 9, 2017 with Reverend James Knight of First Church of the Nazarine officiating.
Helen was born in Terry, Montana to Ray and Ester Hand on April 28, 1925. She went to Riverton High School and graduated in 1942. She went on to earn her associate degree in business from Colorado Women's College in Denver, Colorado. While attending college she met and married her husband, Harlan Mitton, an airline pilot for Continental Airlines. They moved to Wyoming for a few years before returning to Denver to live and raise their family. In 1967 they moved to Casper when they purchased the Blue OX Supper Club. Later Helen went to work for the Wyoming National Bank and became an assistant vice-president of marketing. She served on the National board of directors of the Multiple Sclerosis society and was active in many local community organizations. She was also involved in the Wyoming Federation of Republican Women and served on the staff of former Wyoming Congresswoman Barbra Cubin.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents Ray and Ester Hand, her husband Harlan Mitton, her brother Harold Hand, and her daughter Kathleen Lott.
Helen is survived by her sons, Michael and Patrick Mitton of Casper, Wyoming, her grand children, Matthew Mitton, Ashley Knight, and Michael Lott, all of Casper, her nieces Lee Ann Hand of Cody, Wyoming and Jay Hand of Chicago, Illinois.
